The Community of Practice for Teaching and Learning Podcast
The University of Guelph-Humber
During my time as a fourth-year Media and Communications Studies student and Media Cage Assistant, I was asked to help in the production of the Community of Practice for Teaching and Learning podcast.
The Community of Practice for Teaching and Learning podcast was initiated by a group of interdisciplinary faculty and administrators at the University of Guelph-Humber to create a platform for discussing the ethical integration of generative AI and emerging technologies in teaching and learning. Over time, the focus expanded to include authentic assessments and collaborative sharing of resources across the UofGH community.
I contributed to the project as the Audio Engineer, overseeing the setup of sound equipment, monitoring audio quality during recordings, and editing the final audio for each episode. My role was essential in ensuring the delivery of clear, professional sound that effectively communicated the group’s important discussions to the university community.

About The Community of Practice for Teaching and Learning
The Community of Practice for Teaching and Learning is a group of interdisciplinary academics and administrators who came together as a reaction to the rise in generative AI to create a safe space to share ideas, perspectives and ethical use of new and emerging technologies in the teaching and learning landscape at UofGH. Over time, the discussions evolved to focus on developing an inventory of authentic assessments and ways to share and collaborate on resources and ideas with the UofGH community.
