Woven Stories Logo

Peterborough Musicfest

During my time as the 2025 Marketing Assistant for Peterborough Musicfest I had the opportunity to create the logo for our Woven Stories night in collaboration with Anna Heffernan of Curve Lake First Nation (@miskwaadesigns).

Woven Stories is a night of Indigenous music, culture and celebration. In 2025 it was the first time Peterborough Musicfest had hosted such a night. For this new night we wanted to give it a unique identity thus I was tasked with creating a logo.

The Woven Stories logo symbolizes connection, collaboration, and community. It was inspired by the power of storytelling and the ways we come together through culture. The outer circle draws on the word “woven” — calling to mind woven baskets, circles of people, and the strength found in threads pulled together to form something greater. At its heart, the centre image represents a shared story being created by the community — voices, histories, and perspectives converging in harmony.

After completing the first draft, the team at Musicfest connected with local communities who guided us toward collaborating with Anna. With her incredible insight and cultural lens, Anna helped shape the final version of the artwork, refining the centre to reflect deeper meaning and authenticity.

The final design was shared on Peterborough Musicfest’s socials as well as during the Woven Stories night.
